Is Reku good with other (animals)?

The reason why Reku were agressive was owner, not dog himself. Few pics to prove.

And this person is an absolute stranger:

He is a great dog!

Finally from my point of view

When we started from Estonia, weather was just awful, but weather got better and better when we got closer to the destination. It was like driving towards Reku's  bright future.

As Monika told me, she will call him Reku for now. He is awfully FAT, his weight was 30,5 kg...
How he will do in future, I hope Monika will wrote about it.

20.01-22.01.2012

On 20.01 we started our trip. First I picked up my dogs and transported them to my friend. Then we drove to Libatse (village in Estonia) where Reku lived. It's about 100 km from Tallinn. We stayed there night.
In the morning (8:00) weather were like this:

Meeting Reku:

And that's how our trip started:

On the road (E67 route from Tallinn to Lithuanian/Polish border):

After driving 650km we finally arrived to the meeting point close to Lithuanian/Polish border where we waited for Monika and Jarek:

Reku was curious, but he had not seen so many trucks ever and was a little bit afraid:

And as You can see, he is without dogmuzzle. He was not agressive at all without his old owner.

At last they arrived:

When Reku saw Monika (for the first time of his life) he started behaving like this was the person who he waited the whole life, like he always had known her. He started to jump, waged his tail and wanted lick Monika. This is the dog who was supposed to be aggressive. Sad that I didn't took pictures of that moment. It was just an incredible moment.

And finally they started the trip to their new home in Poland:

Have good life, Reku. I'm happy for You!

Next days

I found him a home, but that home was in Poland, where we had to transport him.
First appeared, that Reku was not vaccinated for 2 years. I had to organize his vaccination.
Then appeared that his pedigree was lost. Katrin (his legal owner) went to Estonian Kennel Union (EKL) to reissue his pedigree. After she could issue export pedigree for Monika.
Then we had to decide with Monika when and where we will meet. It seemed, that best for everybody is 21st January, near the Lithuanian/Polish border. Then I called to Reku's current owners to give Reku more time (I was supposed to have 1 week, but it was 2 weeks until 21st January). Luckily they agreed.

So, all is fine at last!

09.01-10.01.

On Monday evening Katrin send me some pictures of Reku and I put note to Facebook (first time I really happy that I use FB).

We chated with Monika and Doris in FaceBook about Reku. Doris offered her help to spread information about Reku on her website. By morning (10.01) Monika decided that she will have Reku.

About 12 hours later I had new owner for Reku. It was incredible, I couldn't belive it.

Why I decided to do this

Reku lived his first 2 years with Katrin and I knew him quite well. He was curious, playful, friendly, with very good character and very handsome ACD.

People who came to Katrin were not Reku's owners, they just lived in same house with him. They told his owner is beating him for almost every possible cause. She had the idea, that a good dog is an aggressive dog. When she got agressive dog, she realised that she can't handle him anymore. Those people told that when owner is away then Reku is not agressive at all.

All those things together I decided to try.
Actually I didn't have any hope to find a home for an aggressive dog in 1 weeks time...

How it started

It's all started on a nice Sunday, 08.01.2012.
I was visiting my friend Katrin. Suddenly an unfamiliar car drove to gates. Strangers and Katrin talked for a long time. At one point Katrin's daughter came to me and said that they all want to speak with me. I find out, that they have problem with australian cattledog who is agressive and they wanted to put him sleep. They asked my opinion as well for situation. I asked if I could have some time to try to find him new home. They give me 1 week for this. On Sunday I made some phonecalls to friends and put some notes to different Estonian dog forums.
